Compared with other metal materials, titanium alloy pipe has the following advantages:
①The specific strength (tensile strength / density) is higher (see Figure), the tensile strength can reach 100-140kgf / mm2, while the density is only 60% of the steel.
②The medium temperature strength is good, and the service temperature is several Baidu higher than that of aluminum alloy. It can still maintain the required strength at medium temperature, and can work for a long time at 450-500 ℃.
③It has good corrosion resistance, forming a uniform and compact oxide film on the surface of titanium in the atmosphere, and has the ability to resist the erosion of various media. Generally, titanium has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing and neutral media, especially in seawater, wet chlorine and chloride solution. But in reducing medium, such as hydrochloric acid, the corrosion resistance of titanium is poor.
④Titanium alloy with good low temperature properties and very low interstitial elements, such as TA7, can maintain certain plasticity at - 253 ℃.
⑤Low modulus of elasticity, small thermal conductivity, no ferromagnetism.
Different phase composition and microstructure can be obtained by adjusting heat treatment process. It is generally believed that the fine equiaxed structure has better plasticity, thermal stability and fatigue strength; the acicular structure has higher endurance strength, creep strength and fracture toughness; the equiaxed and acicular mixed structure has better comprehensive properties.
